According to the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, “as long as there is breath in the body, there is life. When breath departs, so too does life. Therefore, regulate the breath”.
Students at The Yoga Place in Ephrata are regularly introduced to breath work. This workshop will build from that experience, while allowing time for focused study. In this introduction to Pranayama workshop, we will explore the yogic art of breathing. This class will include anatomy, benefits of breath control, practice of gentle yoga poses, and lots of time to learn and practice several various types of yogic breath. Control of the breath is a great way to reduce stress. You’ll be introduced to several different practices to explore their effect in your body. Leave class with the yogic tools to control the stresses in daily life.
