In the wake of the recent events in Charlottesville, Va, I am again in awe that such hatred exists in our country. It is easy to get bogged down in the horror, but in order to move forward, we must recognize what is going on and take action toward positive change.
"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite." - Nelson Mandela
We must rise up and show that there are more loving masses than there are hateful few. I ask every one of you to choose a loving action toward a stranger every day this week. Write a note, buy them a coffee, show that love is greater than hate. Go out of your way to smile and greet everyone, but especially people who are different than you. Among the hateful few, we must choose loving actions. Be bold, be strong, be love!
